I bought this in the red and it is beautiful. The fit is true to size but I had to have it shortened. I'm 5'5" and the regular was too long. My tailor took the excess hem material and sewed a thin trim of sequins to it to make a belt/sash so buying the regular length worked for me. Without this belt, I think the prom dress might look a little matronly. Only negative is that the shoulder strap didn't flare out as in photo. It bunched up into a strap but not as wide as in photo.
